a. Redang Island

How to get there to Redang Island;-

From Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu by plane with either Malaysian Airlines or Air Asia. Air Asia is cheaper, but with limited flights and seats. The flight takes 45 minutes. There are a few coaches going to Kuala Terengganu. It fare is about RM23.80 one way. Travelling by coach is advisable.
Pulau Redang is located in the South China Sea off the northeast coast of Peninsular Malaysia within 5°44' - 5°50' North latitude and 102°59' - 103°5' East longitude. It lies about 45km north-northeast of Kuala Terengganu, the state capital of Terengganu, and about 22km off Tanjung Merang, the closest point on the mainland.


The main attraction of Redang Island is the Marine Park Centre, where visitors are allowing watching the marine life. However, the equipment had to be rent from the centre and the cost is rental of snorkel, mask and life-jacket ranges from RM20-40 extra per package. Those visiting the Marine Park Centre will have to pay conservation charges of RM5 per adult (RM2.50 for children).

Facilities at Redand Island are mostly resorts that offer acceptable standards of accommodation such as air-condition rooms with attached bathrooms. An increasing number are also equipped with hot showers. The resorts are also offering quality furnishings, hot showers, in-room TVs, electric jugs, hair-dryers, mini-bars and safe deposit boxes. There are premier suites on the hilltop with spectacular sea views. Both resorts have a clinic with a full-time doctor and equipped with internet facilities room while Berjaya has wi-fi access in all rooms. Berjaya also offers laundry services, childcare services as well as a professional spa. There is also an in house doctor in the village near Berjaya Beach resort. Doctors will treat guests from any resort but medical emergencies will be sent back to the mainland for treatment.


Foods are readily and easily available at Redang Island and are normally available at the resorts.
There are eating places are open to everyone, not just guests. There are up market ala-carte restaurants in Berjaya, Coral, Laguna (Sang Suria) and Beach (Summer Palace) are serving both local and western fare, including steamboat. Visitors staying at Pasir Panjang have easy access to food courts or local-style cooked food shops such as Laguna's Food Court, Redang Beach's Summerpoint and Kopitiam and the eateries at Redang Bay. The Redang Bay eateries are available most part of the day, while the rest open from evening till late at night. Between them, one can find delicious local fare like Ramly burgers (Kopitiam), roti canai (Laguna food court), seafood, rice and noodles (almost everywhere), fried cempedak, keropok lekor, teh-tarik and ice-kachang - great for those used to eating late-night suppers.

The common activities in Redang Island is diving and snorkeling to watch the unique marine life available within Redang Island.



b. Sipadan Island
How to get there;-
By AirThe jump off point to Sipadan Island is Kota Kinabalu or Tawau. Non stop flights from Kota Kinabalu to Tawau (45 minutes one way)
By Car Continue the overland transfer journey from Tawau by a 1-hour drive to Semporna town.By SeaA 30-minute speedboat transfers from Semporna to Mabul, which is the jump off point for Sipadan Island explorations.







Attraction of Sipadan Island is the beautiful and abundant marine life and its clear water sea and its coral reef. Here, numerous species of fishes, turtles and other marine life is found. Among them are the bumphead parrotfish, porcupine pufferfish, clown triggerfish, giant moray eels, hawkfish, groupers and whitetip reef shark.

Accommodation
Sipadan Island does not have any accommodation as this is to preserve the nature of Sipadan Island. The only accommodation is Sipadan Water Village is a resort located on the island of Mabul. This small island surrounded by sandy beaches and perched on the northwest corner of a larger 200-hecter reef is notably known as one of the worlds best "muck-diving" sites.

Activities here in Sipadan Island are concentrated on diving activities to view the beauty under the sea. Most of tourist will dive to see the school of barracudas, and other species of fish. The unspoilt sea garden with beautiful coral is the best sight to see in Sipadan Island.
