History of Royal Selangor Pewter -
1) Founded by Yoon Koon
2) Year 1885
3) Original name : Selangor Pewter
4) Originally making for josssticks holders, candle holders and ceremonial and altar use.
5) British arrival had prompte it to create more design like mugs and many other items.
6) First export began 1970 - Singapore , Australia , a few years later to Europe and Japan
7) Changed name from Selangor Pewter to Royal Selangor Pewter in 1992 - Al Marhum Sultan Sallahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah. Endorsement given by His Highness Sultan of Selangor
8) Obtain Royal charter on it's name because the brand was promoted overseas and the Sultan happen to see that. Very please that His Highness granted them to use the name Royal .
9) The giant tankard ( giant pewter mug ) biggest in the world - recognised in the Guiness World of Records. (GWR) -
10) Easy to remember :- Height 1987 mm recognised in GWR in 1987 , weight 1557 kg
